Annual Monitoring Network Report
This page last reviewed on June 24, 2011
The Annual Air Quality Monitoring Network Report for Small
Districts in California is now available (PDF) for public inspection until July
24, 2011. Federal regulations require that the air quality monitoring network
be reviewed annually to identify any need for additions, relocations, or terminations
of monitoring sites or instrumentation. After the 30-day public inspection period, the
report will be sent to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA).
Fourteen
local air agencies in California that operate monitoring sites are
reporting separately on the ambient monitoring within their
jurisdictions. This report consists of 25 counties or portions of
counties with ambient monitoring sites for which the local air agencies
are not drafting a separate report.
The public is invited to
review and comment on the draft plan before it is submtited to the U.S.
EPA. If you have any questions please contact:
Ms. Gayle Sweigert, Manager, Air Quality Analysis Section at (916) 322-6923.
A separate report is available which includes somewhat different information on the types and time periods of air quality data available from the statewide air monitoring network. This report is called the State and Local Air Monitoring Network Plan, and was last updated in June 2009. The ARB has been compiling and distributing this report for more than two decades.
